First Steps For New Believers |
|
|
Getting connected to a local church is key to your continued growth as a believer. As a new believer it can be difficult to remain in the church unless you form meaningful relationships with others in that local body. That’s why at NLC, we want to make sure that you get plugged in as soon as we meet you! Once you have publicly declared your salvation, we’ll get you connected to a small group called a Link Cell. In linking you up with a cell leader and cell group we consider two things: your present relationships at church and/or the geographical area in which you live. Most new believers come to church on invitation from a friend, workmate, family or cell member and those can be great leads in connecting to a suitable cell group. Still, if you do not live near or work together with the person who invited you, we allow you to choose whether to travel the distance to go to their cell group or link you to one near where you live. A seven-lesson class specifically designed for you as you begin your walk with the Lord is the first goal your cell leader will encourage and support you in. This New Believers Class is called “First Steps” and is taught at church and at Cell every alternate week. In this way, the new believer gets to connect with the small group as well as the larger local body that they are now a part of. |
